Our signposting service
Part of our role is to provide advice and information about access to local care services. We call this signposting. For example, we can give you information about how to choose a care home or how to get physiotherapy through the NHS.
To access the service, you can call us on 01844 348839 – Monday to Thursday between 9am and 5pm – or you can email firstname.lastname@example.org. You can also leave a voicemail message. We try to respond to email and voicemail enquiries within 2 working days.
If you want to make a complaint about a service, see our complaints guide.
You can also browse or search some of the information we provide, below.
More about our signposting service
How services are provided can vary depending on where you live in the country. This is because of the way some health and care services are paid for. We are generally focused on helping residents of Buckinghamshire understand how to use local services. Each area has its own Local Healthwatch to help their residents.
In our signposting, we also try to help service users understand what they can expect from the NHS and other health and care services. We do not provide this information on behalf of the NHS or other service providers. We often direct people to information that is already in the public domain but is hard to find. This includes information to help people understand any choices they may have regarding these services.
Where local people have issues, concerns or problems with health and care services, we signpost them to other services that might support them. For example, to the PALS team for an NHS complaint or to the Citizens Advice Bureau about accessing legal advice.
We are not contracted to handle complaints or provide advocacy services but we can direct you to organisations that do.
