Child Bereavement UK

Child Bereavement UK supports families and educates professionals both when a baby or child of any age dies or is dying, and when a child is facing bereavement. Every year we train more than 10,000 professionals, helping them to better understand and meet the needs of grieving families.

Children and Young People’s Physiotherapy Service

Provides a county wide community Physiotherapy service for Buckinghamshire (excluding Milton Keynes). Provides treatment for conditions that impact on children’s physical development (0-19 year olds).

Services are mainly clinic based with practitioners also seeing children and families in:

  • children’s centres
  • their home
  • school
  • early years setting

Practitioners work with the parents and the team around the child in order to improve health, development and mobility outcomes.

Referrals to the service are made by health professionals such as a GP, Health Visitor, Occupational Therapist or hospital consultant.

Community Paediatrics

Community Paediatricians are specialist children’s doctors with training and expertise in developmental paediatrics and disability, social paediatrics (child protection and children in local authority care), neurodevelopmental work (ADHD and ASD diagnostic assessments) and educational paediatrics (special educational needs).

The Service also has a statutory role in partnership with the Local Authority in relation to health assessments for children with Special Educational Needs which may impact on school attendance and attainment.

Neurodevelopmental Single Point of Access (SPA)

Oxford Health Foundation Trust and Buckinghamshire Health Care Trust are collaborating to deliver a Buckinghamshire Neurodevelopmental ‘Single Point of Access for Assessment and Treatment’. A ‘Single Point of Access’ is also called a SPA.

The neurodevelopmental team mostly work with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and autism spectrum disorder (ASD) diagnostic assessments.

You can contact the service through the Children and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) which works with the Community Paediatrics team.

Youth Concern

Youth Concern is a registered charity, which offers help and support to vulnerable young people aged 13-25 years.

They have a drop-in centre in Whitehill Lane, which offers young people a safe place to meet and access guidance, support and counselling.
