Carers Bucks exists entirely to support and promote the wellbeing of family carers. We support carers of all ages and in different caring roles, including young carers, parents of children with a physical or learning disability, older carers,carers from the black and minority ethnic community [B2]  and those looking after someone with mental health problems, including depression.

Chiltern Music Therapy

Not-for-profit organisation that provides a music therapy service to people of all ages. Music Therapy enables a wide range of people, of all ages, to develop skills and improve their health and well-being. We take referrals for babies, children, adults and older people with:

  • Learning disabilities, including Autism and Asperger’s syndrome
  • Traumatic brain injury
  • Dementia
  • Mental-health and emotional difficulties, including post traumatic stress disorder
  • Neurological conditions, including stroke, Parkinson’s disease, Multiple Sclerosis, Huntingdon’s disease
  • Behavioural difficulties, including ADHD
  • Sensory impairments
  • Cancer, life-threatening illnesses and those in palliative care
  • Anyone for whom traditional talking therapies are not suitable or appropriate

Chiltern Samaritians

Chiltern Samaritans provide emotional support to people in our local area. They give people time and space to express their feelings in a safe and confidential environment. They listen, don’t judge and never tell people what they should do.

Rape Crisis provide an equal opportunities service to all women, regardless of their race, cultural background, sexual orientation and any disability.

They are a voluntary organisation, run by women for women, independent of the Police and Social Services.

The Advocacy People (IHCA)

The Advocacy People (formerly called SEAP) is a charity that gives independent and free advice about making complaints.

In Buckinghamshire, The Advocacy People can help if you are unhappy with the service you, or someone else, has received from the NHS. This is called Independent Health Complaints Advocacy or IHCA).

Initial enquiries are made at the national level and then routed to the local body.
