Nursing & Midwifery Council (NMC)

The Nursing & Midwifery Council (NMC) is the independent regulator for nurses and midwives in the UK, and nursing associates in England.

If you have concerns about someone registered with the NMC and believe they are not fit to practise you can contact them.

The NMC Public Support Service also offers support to any patient, service user, family member, or a member of the public who has raised concerns about a nurse, midwife or nursing associate on their register, that they have decided to investigate.

Oxford Health Foundation Trust Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS)

Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust provides mental health services in Buckinghamshire.

PALS is a confidential service. They won’t share with whoever you are complaining about. They try to sort out the problem or advise you what to do. They also have a lot of information about the NHS and other services.

In Buckinghamshire, The Advocacy People can help if you are unhappy with the service you, or someone else, has received from the NHS. This is called Independent Health Complaints Advocacy or IHCA).

Initial enquiries are made at the national level and then routed to the local body.
