Nurse was 100% brilliant. My opinion of the doctor is not positive & this also applies to the telephone appointment I had last week.
The service from the practice was very good but was significantly let down by this particular doctor.
I am not making a complaint but have left my contact details should you wish to contact me for any clarification of these comments.

Thankyou Chiltern House for excellent service this morning 20th February 2025. Feeling very poorly I phoned just after 8 o’clock and {} answered, she was lovely, caring and understanding and booked me a doctors phonecall. Just over an hour later Dr called and she was just as lovely and caring and did a prescription which was ready to collect almost straight away. Thankyou lovely ladies !

Good practice

I am worried about a symptom and feel they haven’t put my mind at rest.
Their diagnosis is not right in my opinion as at 60 I am aware of the symptoms of my diagnosis and I am definitely not having any of these.
Their diagnosis reason I asked for an appointment was because this is something I haven’t experienced before and therefore needed professional help.
My diagnosis is in my opinion wrong.

Helping with emergency

I have recently been diagnosed with Cancer and I found the Chiltern House Medical Centre to be prompt, efficient and caring above and beyond what their Charter required. They have also dealt with routine medical care promptly and efficiently. Today I had to deal with managing the pain from the tumour and staff bent over backwards to make sure I was looked after. I have a better quality of life because of the people here.

I called goy the support needed

I had a medical issue, I have called in the morning to the practice and I was informed they didn't have any available appointments, that would be necessary call 111 or call back at 2 pm, I have called 111 as I know that call back it would not work. This was in the morning, then I called 111 they advised my GP would call me to book a consult and be examined by today, the GP only called me 16:15 saying they didn't have any more appointments for the rest of the day and would be advised to come next day afternoon, but the medical issue could not be waited until the next day as it could get infection, the doctor recommended to call back to 111 to get this to hospital appointment, but I have called again 111 and 111 advised they cannot do this as this should have to be resolved by my GP.

4 stars

Very attentive. Prompt attention and call back after blood test.

1 star

Awful surgery certain reception staff are rude unprofessional and lack empathy refuse to put you through to practice manager by saying they are not there talk over you try and fob you off to 111 knowing full well they have a duty of care to their patients

1 star

Been waiting for a call back for nearly 3 days; the reception team is rude, and I don’t know what they are doing! I’ve explained nearly 1000 times, that my phone doesn’t take private numbers, it’s my files, Doctors have called me back on many accounts, like there is no communication, between,Doctor’s and reception team!

4 stars

Because I went for an appointment and I was treated with respect the atmosphere at the reception was welcoming I didn’t wait long to get the help and information I wanted

5 stars

I came down for a flu jab. It was all very well organised and painless. I also needed some other ‘stuff’ from the receptionist and she was very good too. On this occasion excellent.

4 stars

The performance at the surgery has improved lately

5 stars

Staff and doctors always helpfull and polite

4 stars

Rang at 8am, very short wait for answer. Given face to face appointment. Saw doctor only 5 minutes late. Doctor friendly and dealt with problem efficiently.

5 stars

I had a telephone appointment with Dr Navaid Alam and he was brilliant very friendly and helpful

2 stars

Difficult to get appointments, no online booking facility. Never see same doctor. Reception staff not always understand systems

1 star

reception training would be useful

1 star

The centre send emails requesting you call them to arrange something only for no one to answer the phone.

1 star

Avoid this surgery. It should probably be put into special measures. Impossible to book an appointment, either at short notice, or in advance, by any method: phone, app etc. You can’t send a message to the surgery through the NHS app etc., as they’ve disabled that function. Ignore this surgery. I had to call 111 in the end to get treatment for a worsening condition.

1 star

I received a text May 2023 informing me it was time to book my annual review after several failed attempts trying to book this i eventually went into the surgery only to be told the June bookings are full and July are not yet open, I waited for July went back to the surgery booked my appointment ONLY TO RECEIVE a text message cancelling my appointment I was assured my appointment will be rebooked to this day no such appointment

1 star

Totally useless, can't even organise a repeat prescription. Not long ago, you could ring up to book your appointment, now everyone is told to ring at 8am and 2pm which creates chaos when everyone is trying to book appointments at the same time. It is like they can't think of enough ways to make life as difficult as possible for you.

I have been feeling unwell for 4 months now. I have constantly pushed for tests, I’ve now had 2 lots done, the first lot was fine and the doctor was happy to leave it at that. I pushed for more tests and they have come back with elevations, esr and anti nuclear. The doctor got some advice from rheumatology and was told to take steroids for 30 days and we will redo bloods. I called them a few weeks into the steroids as I’m getting worse. I’m in a lot of pain, I can’t sleep with the pain and I’m restricted with what I can do. The doctor said he will refer me again but he cannot force them to see me!
I got text to say a routine appointment will be made for me. Called Rheumatology and they said as it’s been made as a routine appointment and it’s upto a years wait. Have been on the phone to the doctors 3 times and Stoke twice as they keep bouncing me back to one another. Ringing Stoke again now to see if they can change it to urgent as that’s what apparently my doctors has marked it as.
Thank you NHS

When I spoke to the receptionist apron arrival once she realised, I was late she treated me with great distaste! I apologised and explained I was unavoidably delayed. Then she told me that I would not be able to see the HCA and would have to rebook. so, I rebooked. the Chiltern medical centre has now wasted 2 hours of my time and cost me twice in travel costs! I have been made to wait in reception for up to 20 minutes for an appointment. So, it is ok for you to make me wait.

I have on the 10years registered with you only ever seen one doctor and I PAID for that appointment!! It appears to me that the team at the Chiltern medical centre have forgotten WE are the customers that they are paid to look after by us!! I have also noticed the large number of bad reviews about the CHMC on the internet mostly about the rude receptionists.

Been trying to contact surgery as requested to book my flu jab. Was number 9 in queue and then got cut off. This has happened numerous times. I then tried to book an appointment on line and it is proving impossible I understand things are difficult but the situation really should be improving. I also wanted to know if I could have my flu jab at the same time as my Covid booster as that would be more convenient and avoid two visits. I also have not received a response to my previous email enquiry.

3 stars

Tried for an appointment at 2 minutes past 2.00 the designated time.
As usual nothing available ring tomorrow! This surgery is a lottery maybe one day I will win and see a doctor! absolutely useless!!!!, Hope I don't have a heart attack in the meantime!

1 star

Pre-arranged telephone appointments booked on 3 consecutive days have not been received. Receptionist totally not bothered and her only concern was it wasn't her who made the bookings. She didn't want to investigate after she confirmed that there were no bookings on her records for us? She only wanted me off the phone stating she had other calls waiting and I would get a return call sometime today! (none current received) . Wouldn't recommend this practice.

2 stars

Very difficult to get appointment, virtually impossible by phone. I now drive to the surgery at 8am to get seen. Last two times I have only seen the practice nurse not the doctor. First nurse was super, 2nd was awful. Trying to get test results or change prescriptions is a nightmare. I should be having regular check ups, but keep having to chase them to arrange to be seen. There is no continuity and one or two of the doctors have been very rude, I have been with this surgery for 60 years in its various guises, and am sad it has gone downhill so badly.

Thank god they have been under special measures. Needs it!

star

No appointments at all ever according to receptionists until u speak to practice manager its very slow although the surgery is always empty staff always have time to stand around laughing and joking

3 stars

Appointments are always running late, but understand this is the norm. However, 4 days to get a prescription is not acceptable.

2 stars

Difficult to get an appointment, no way to get a follow-up, no communication with NHS hospital departments, no results. Generally awful from beginning to what I now assume is the end. I will be changing surgery.

5 stars

Very pleased with the service my family has had from Chiltern House!

4 stars

I am disappointed with the appointment system. It is very difficult for someone who works full-time to get an appointment so they need to have more flexible hours.

3 stars

Its very difficult to get an appointment.

3 stars

I generally have experienced average service.

4 stars

The receptionist could be more friendly.

2 stars

There are not enough doctors and I have had to travel elsewhere to see a doctor. You can't book in advance unless it's an emergency.

3 stars

The GP's are good. They have long waiting hours.

2 stars

I have often found the receptionists to be very rude and the overall service is very poor.
