I waited 2 months for appointment for back pain, had a very brief appointment & an even briefer phone call which I had to insist on. I rang several times to get the result of an MRI scan, and was eventually told I had been discharged to a local hospital. There was no letter, no phone call & certainly no consultation, I was simply told I would have to be re referred & wait another 2 months to be seen for the same problem !

I had an appt , booked months in advance. Was told the usual person was on annual leave but that someone else could perform the steroid injection I needed in my shoulder but when I got there, which cost me £6 in a taxi fare, then a 45 min walk home as couldn’t afford to pay out twice for a taxi but didn’t even get my injection. I am fuming ! Receptionists need to know what they’re talking about and if this person wasn’t able to do what I asked then they should have rung me to tell me that and then I wouldn’t have bothered going!!

I could not attend my long awaited (9 months) consultant appointment following an MRI scan in March 2019 for problems with my neck. HOWEVER.
I had a telephone appointment with the Pain Clinic consultant and we agreed what course of action I would like to take – ideally for a physio to give me specific advice on an exercise program to help strengthen my neck and prevent further deterioration. I assumed that nothing more would happen until lockdown is lifted. But the consultant wrote to my GP who, unbeknown to me, made the referral. I got a phone call, out of the blue, from a physiotherapist at the Musculo Skeletal service. He was fantastic. He had read my file and knew my situation. He asked me questions and listened intently to my answers. I felt supported and encouraged. He designed a tailor made exercise program to compliment what I am already doing and emailed it through to me. He has given me an “open appointment” for 6 months so that I can get back in touch if I have any concerns or questions. I would never have imagined that a telephone consultation could be so good. I am really pleased. Thank you!

I was told I could book my last appointment for March as I would be on holiday in February 20, when the appointment was due. When I returned from holiday I was unwell and did not ring for appointment, straight away and waited until I well enough to call. However, I had been trying to call for a few days from end of Feb/beginning of March to book my last appointment, but when I finally got through I was told I was discharged back in February, I was not contacted before I was discharged to see if I wanted my last appointment. My complaint is that before they ‘discharge’ you they should try and call you to book your last session! Very bad practice as far I am concerned!!

I used the service 3 times for muscle issues in my glutes and muscles in my neck.
They have more time than the doctors. They are hands on and understand. Clare an advanced physio is particularly good.

Initial appointment made promptly but follow up poor..At first appointment I was given a sheet of exercises but physio did not have time to demonstrate or go through them . At second appointment he did not remember me , asked if exercises had worked and then disappeared to get permission for me to have an ultra sound scan. This took 15 mins and was the end of that appointment. After scan I was discharged by physio by phone. I was not sent copy of discharge letter but when I eventually got it from GP it said that I had refused a referral to the pain clinic which is untrue as this had never been offered. I felt felt part if a tick box exercise rather than any attempt to resolve my problems which are ongoing

I have this morning had to cancel my appointment. However, I fail to understand why I am required to give a reason for cancelling. It is enough that I have the courtesy and good sense to cancel the appointment. The reason for cancelling is a private matter and it is not necessary for me to have to divulge my personal business.

Excellent service once they had received a referral for an MRI scan. However, the pathway to the referral is long and arduous. Can someone please explain why my GP cannot refer me for an MRI or to an orthopaedic consultant. I have fought the system all the way so far and although the MRI results were inconclusive I still had to insist on a referral to the orthopaedic consultant. Nearly 3 months down the line I still don’t know what’s wrong with my knee.

Have to wait in all day for them to ring you for appt.!
Wrong information given (told I did not need to be driven home but I did) This information not given verbally neither is it stated on the paperwork. No information given as to who the various professionals are or their roles. With injections have to go back to GP, who now has a 21 day wait for appointment, although the GP states 12 days!

I find the MuSIC service efficient, professional, and kind. My only complaint is that I have a condition which has needed regular injections into the knee, and presumably will again, yet I have to go back to the GP to be referred to the service every time. This seems a real waste of my GP’s time.

Joe the physio I was refereed to from The Practice, Prospect House, Great Missenden, knew his stuff and recommended some stretching exercises that really worked. Top notch treatment from a young man new in post! Inspiring to see this service.
