We produce a number of reports each year. The majority of these are the result of projects we have undertaken. We have a constant stream of projects underway and in development.
Our project priorities for 2019-20 are:
- Mental health and Wellbeing
- Adult Social Care
- Primary and Community Care (care closer to home)
We generate ideas for new projects in a number of ways.
Firstly, we use your feedback! We analyse the data we collect on a regular basis, looking for issues that stand out. Along side this data, we look at official statistics, to see if there is any overlap with what the public is saying. We also collect project suggestions directly from our own team, our Board, our Advisory Panel and our volunteers.

Every three months the Advisory Panel reviews and verifies the suggested projects. The Advisory Panel works closely with our Chief Executive to choose which projects to Healthwatch Bucks will deliver. Projects with a big scope or budget must be approved by the Board of Directors.
Once a project has been approved it goes into our delivery schedule. In the past we have worked with a number of organisations on project delivery, including Bucks Mind, Talkback, seAp and the Carers Trust. We also have a project managers who oversee some of the small projects we work on. Occasionally, our volunteers have delivered entire projects.
On-going projects
We have been commissioned to deliver several other projects, in addition to the schedule of projects outlined above. These include the Dignity in Care project, which was commissioned by Bucks County Council. We have also been commissioned by Bucks Clinical Commissioning Group to support Patient Participation Groups in the county.
