Patient Participation Awareness Week 6th to 11th June

Working in partnership with GPs and practice teams, Patient Participation Groups ensure that patients voices are heart of local provision so that services are high quality and continuously improve. PPGs also provide practical support to their GP practice and help to improve communication between the practice and its patients, and help patients to take more responsibility for their health.

On the 11th of May we held our quarterly guest speaker event and board meeting held in public. Our theme for the day was primary care and we invited two speakers to talk and we were lucky enough to have Andy Blackstock from the Care Quality Commission and Caris Thomas from Healthwatch Slough come to talk to the attendees and our board about their work with GP practices.

Healthwatch Bucks at Confronting Dementia Day in Amersham

On a lovely sunny and dry May 17th, we chatted to lots of people who attended the Confronting Dementia Day in Amersham. Along with Community Impact Bucks, the Alzheimer’s Society, Chiltern and South Bucks District Councils, Bucks County Council, the Chiltern Clinical Commissioning Group and other local community groups we set up our stall as part of Dementia Awareness Week.
