Voices from women that have been pregnant in the past 10 years.

We were commissioned by Buckinghamshire Public Health to gather voices on preconception and antenatal health care as part of their ongoing agenda to improve women’s maternal health.

We held six focus groups, a two-person interview and two individual interviews with women during October and November 2023. In one of these groups, we had help from a participant who translated our questions into Pashto. Feedback was gathered in settings across three areas in Buckinghamshire – Aylesbury, Chesham and High Wycombe.

We listened to 31 voices in total. Our findings and recommendations have been shared with Buckinghamshire Council Public Health leads. They will be used to help support and develop their strategic maternity action plan.

Survey

Buckinghamshire Public Health is also conducting an online survey for women who have given birth in the UK within the last 10 years.

They would like to hear from women living in deprived areas, of Black or Asian heritage and/or below 25 years of age.
