Healthwatch Bucks has written to the Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire and Berkshire West Integrated Care Board (BOB ICB) following a request from FACT Bucks, the local parent and family carers’ forum.

At the System Quality Group meeting on 20 September 2023, FACT Bucks raised a question about the quality of care and coordination for autistic children and young people. This followed recent press revelations about families for whom this had failed.

In our letter to Rachael Corser, Chief Nursing Officer at BOB ICB, we asked for assurance that the importance of social care support for families with autistic children and young people – especially those in Tier 4 CAHMS – is recognised and being acted upon.

BOB ICB has now replied to us, and its response has been shared with FACT Bucks. BOB ICB has provided an overview of the processes and structures it has in place to support children and young people with autism.

Our letter to BOB ICB, and the response we received, can be read by clicking the download links below.
