Quality and Compassion Ltd., a domiciliary care agency based in Aylesbury, has been rated ‘requires improvement’ by the Care Quality Commission (CQC).

The CQC carried out an inspection of the provider in June 2023. At the time there were 25 people using the service, which provides support to people living in their own home.

Making an assessment

The CQC uses five key questions to rate services.

These are:

  • Is the service safe?
  • Is it effective?
  • Is the service caring?
  • Is the service responsive?
  • Is it well led?

Quality and Compassion Ltd. was rated ‘good’ for caring and responsiveness, but ‘requires improvement’ against the questions about effectiveness and leadership. It was rated ‘inadequate’ against the key question of safety.

Therefore, the provider received an overall rating of ‘requires improvement’.

What happens next?

The CQC has told Quality and Compassion Ltd. to take action that will end breaches of regulations and ensure patients are kept safe from avoidable harm.
