The Care Quality Commission (CQC) has conducted a focused inspection of Aylesbury Supported Living Service and removed the provider from special measures.

It was first placed in special measures in February 2023, and was required to complete an action plan that would correct breaches of legal requirements found in December 2022.

Its latest focused inspection took place in June 2023, and looked at the key questions of whether the service is safe and well led.

Improvements made

Since 2022, Aylesbury Supported Living Service has made changes to:

  • Improve safe care and treatment
  • Meet regulatory requirements
  • Meet duty of candour and need for consent
  • Achieve good governance.

However, inspectors identified continuing breaches in relation to need for consent and the management of people’s medicines.

Overall, the provider received an improved overall rating of ‘requires improvement’ at its June 2023 focused inspection.
