Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust (OHFT) has appointed Grant Macdonald as interim Chief Executive Officer.

OHFT provides mental health services in Buckinghamshire.

Grant, a trained mental health nurse, is currently Executive Managing Director for Mental Health and Learning Disabilities at the Trust. He has 19 years’ experience as an executive board director for large and complex healthcare providers.

Grant has worked in a range of roles involving nursing leadership and responsibility for strategy and workforce. He has also previously worked as an interim CEO.

He says:

It is a privilege to be asked to take on the role of Chief Executive for an interim period. Teams make up Oxford Health and they are the most important determinant of daily work-life experience and the quality of care. Therefore, I am committed to ensuring we create the conditions for those teams to flourish and provide great care to the people we serve.

David Walker, Chair of OHFT, says:

In Grant, Oxford Health has an accomplished executive who brings personal experience as a nurse and as a manager in various NHS settings. The appointing panel, which included a service user, the leader of a neighbouring Trust and non-executive directors, was impressed by his determination to  move forward – helping our clinical staff and service leads cope with unprecedented demand, reducing our reliance on agency staff and streamlining the organisation.
