Living Horizon, a care service based in Aylesbury, has been rated ‘good’ following a recent inspection by the Care Quality Commission (CQC).

Living Horizon provides personal care to people with mental health conditions, dementia, learning and physical disabilities and sensory impairments. This can include help with tasks related to eating, drinking and hygiene.

Key questions

At this inspection, the CQC considered two key questions in order to determine whether the service was:

  • Safe
  • Well led.

Inspectors received positive feedback from the people being supported by the service. They observed positive interactions between people and staff, and found that people were treated with dignity and respect.

Recommendations were made to help improve record keeping, hand hygiene and the way feedback is used by the service. Overall, Living Horizon was rated ‘good’ against the two key questions considered at this inspection.

‘Good’ overall

Ratings from Living Horizon’s previous inspection in 2018 were carried over and set against the other key criteria assessed by the CQC:

  • Effective
  • Caring
  • Responsive.

Overall, therefore, Living Horizon received a rating of ‘good’. The CQC’s full report on Living Horizon is available online.
