Healthwatch Bucks has launched a new research project in partnership with Buckinghamshire Council and Terrence Higgins Trust to gather feedback on awareness of HIV testing and sexual health services within the county.

Zero new HIV infections

In January 2019, the UK government announced its commitment to achieving the goal of zero new HIV infections, AIDS and HIV-related deaths in England by 2030.

Success will depend on current work to prevent HIV transmission being sustained. Such efforts must also be expanded so that prevention messaging reaches all who might be at risk.

What we want to know

We’ve been commissioned by Buckinghamshire Council and Terrence Higgins Trust to collect the views of members of black African and Caribbean communities within Buckinghamshire.

We have created a short online survey to gather information on:

  • Attitudes to HIV
  • Awareness and knowledge of how to access a HIV test, or sexual health services in general
  • Barriers to accessing sexual health services
  • How people prefer sexual health services to be delivered (i.e., face to face, online, etc.).

Complete the survey now

You can complete the survey in confidence. All results will be anonymised and the questionnaire will not capture any data that can be used to identify individuals.

What we’ll do with our findings

We will analyse the feedback we receive, then write a report that summarises what we’ve found out about awareness of HIV and attitudes to HIV testing in local black communities.

We’ll share the report with Terrence Higgins Trust and Buckinghamshire Sexual Health and Wellbeing (bSHaW). It will also be published on our website.
