Healthwatch Bucks has announced it will recruit a new chair following the resignation of Peter Miller.

Peter, who was elected Chair in April this year, has made the decision to step down due to a change in his personal circumstances. Commenting on his departure, Peter said:

Healthwatch Bucks does vital work on behalf of local people and needs a Chair who can carry out the role effectively. Since becoming Chair earlier this year, a change in my personal circumstances has made it difficult for me to fulfil my responsibilities at Healthwatch Bucks in the way I would like.

With regret, I have therefore made the decision to step down. I wish my Healthwatch Bucks colleagues all the best with finding a new Chair, and with their ongoing work as they continue to listen to Buckinghamshire residents, influence health and social care providers and improve the way services are delivered.

Zoe McIntosh, Chief Executive of Healthwatch Bucks, commented:

Like the board, the staff team at Healthwatch Bucks want to extend their gratitude and well wishes to our outgoing Chair, Peter Miller.

At a time of uncertainty and with the cost of living crisis already affecting people’s access to health and social care services, our work to help ensure people get the support and services they need has never been more important. We look forward to welcoming a new Chair who can help us shape local health and social care services, influencing policymakers, commissioners and providers to make sure they truly meet the needs of those who rely on them.
