Healthwatch Bucks is your local health and social care champion. We’re here to make sure that NHS leaders, Bucks Council and other decision makers hear your voice and use your feedback to improve care.
At our Annual Report Launch Event on 21 July 2022 we celebrated all the work our staff and volunteers have done this year, including:
- Research on your experiences of COVID-19 vaccination
- A survey into how patients felt about remote mental health support
- A report on how COVID-19 affected cancer services in Bucks.
We were joined by Dr James Kent, Chief Executive of the Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire and Berkshire West Integrated Care Board (BOB ICB). He outlined his vision for this new organisation, which will help improve health and care services for people living in Bucks. We also heard from Caroline Capell, Director of Urgent and Emergency Care for Buckinghamshire. She shared her plans for developing a more responsive and integrated approach to emergency treatment and the 111 service. You can download both presentations below.
Meanwhile, we said goodbye to Shade Adoh and Howard Mordue, two long-standing Healthwatch Bucks Directors who are now standing down. We also bid a fond farewell to Healthwatch Bucks Chair Jenny Baker OBE, who has led us with dedication and commitment since 2013.
Peter Miller, incoming Chair of Healthwatch Bucks, said:
This was my first Annual Report Launch event, but I hope to be involved with many more. I was struck by the support and commitment in the room and the positive way in which the newly published report was received.
I feel privileged to be joining Healthwatch Bucks and am determined to ensure the voice of residents is heard. Together, we can make a difference to local health and social care.
