We wanted to hear about people’s experiences with this provider.

We used a set of questions to guide our conversation. It covered topics such as:

  • what did people like doing at Animal Antiks?
  • what skills had they improved since attending the site?
  • what would they like to change?
  • how did they feel about the service?

Why did we do this project?

In 2021-22 we are looking at COVID-19 response and recovery in Health and Social Care. Together with our interest in lesser heard voices, we decided to visit locations where community opportunity services are provided. We wanted to hear from those who attended these in Buckinghamshire. We wanted to find out about what they gained from the experience and how it promotes well-being and self-reliance. We also wanted to identify good practice and ways to improve service delivery.

Our findings and recommendations, together with the response from Animal Antiks, can be found in our report below:

How wonderful that clients are able to feel they are contributing to the welfare of animals and are being valuable members of their community. Funding such projects is so important to ensure clients’ wellbeing and health is a significant factor in funding decisions.
