With much regret we report the passing of Janice Campbell, a long-standing, key member of our Healthwatch Bucks team, who died on 21 August 2021 after a short illness .
With her heart firmly rooted in equity of access to health and social care, Janice had previously served as a founding member of the Local Involvement Network for Bucks (LINk) before its transition into the new Healthwatch Bucks in 2013.
Before LINk and Healthwatch, Janice’s career path had been as a qualified Social Worker and Psychotherapist. With over 30 years of experience in local government and the voluntary sector at progressively senior levels, Janice had specialised in working with people with learning disabilities, autism and mental health issues.
Throughout her engagement with Healthwatch Bucks, Janice served as an active member of our Advisory Panel and volunteered in the design and delivery of many of our projects. Janice was always passionate in her advocacy for quality health and social care and represented Healthwatch Bucks at a range of health and social care meetings.
In November 2020, Janice was appointed as a Board Director of Healthwatch Bucks as a lead member on social care, also joining our Governance Committee at the same. Janice served also as Chair of Talkback UK, and Relate Mid-Thames and Bucks, and volunteered for Rennie Grove Hospice Care, all bringing further insights and connections to the work of Healthwatch Bucks
Janice will be fondly remembered and sorely missed by everyone who worked with her.
