By Saturday 20 March, Unity Health and Cross Keys Practices had offered vaccinations to all patients in Priority groups 1-9.

This is 3 weeks ahead of the Government target. It was achieved as the Practices were one of the first in Bucks to start the vaccination programme. There has been a very high uptake in groups 1-7, but only about 75% of groups 8- 9 (50 – 59-year-old) have been vaccinated. However, some of these may have been vaccinated elsewhere in one of the NHS mass vaccination centres.

This has been achieved by the hard work of the clinical and administrative staff. Also, with support from over 60 volunteers and the neighbourhood policing team.

Our volunteers have enjoyed meeting so many people and there has been an element of enjoyment in the whole operation. For many, it is great to be out meeting people and not be breaking COVID rules!

The parking volunteers have been doing a great job along with those helping out patients master the parking ticket machine. For many, the most stressful part of getting a vaccine is obtaining a parking ticket!

The Practices now turn to get the second jabs done over the next 12 weeks.
