In September we published a report called Your experiences of services during the coronavirus outbreak. We wanted to hear about the experiences of people who live in Buckinghamshire or who receive services in the county.
We wrote to Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust (BHT), Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust (OHFT), Buckinghamshire Council and Buckinghamshire Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) asking them for a response to our recommendations.
Some of the recommendations we made are below:
Information and advice
- We recommended that all local service providers and commissioners make sure their websites provide up to date, clear and accessible information.
Carers
- We recommended that Buckinghamshire Council should consider whether some of the benefits offered to those shielding could be extended to carers.
Mental Health and Wellbeing Support
We recommended that OHFT and Buckinghamshire CCG:
- Review the current service to identify the gaps in support. Also, make improvements to meet the needs of all those who need to access support
- Look closer at the service user experience to see where online services can be more helpful. Also, involve users in developing future suitable online support.
We would like to thank those who responded to our recommendations.
