My husband and I got our coronavirus vaccines on Thursday 7 January 2021.
At first, it took a long time to receive the call and this had made us very anxious. We believed we would be one of the first on the list as my husband Keith is 96 and I am 94.
After what seemed like a long wait, we finally received the call from Cross Keys Surgery in Princes Risborough advising us when to come in for our vaccines, which will happen together.
Cross Keys Surgery is giving vaccines at Princes Risborough Community Centre.
The whole experience was excellent. We gave our names and appointment time to a friendly lady on arrival. We had our masks on and had to sanitise our hands at the door. It was all very safe.
We were asked if we are suffering from coronavirus symptoms and another few questions before we could enter the room. Our vaccines were given to us straight away. The nurse administering the vaccine explained which vaccine we were having and gave us clear information around it. You will receive leaflets and information about coronavirus and the vaccine you receive. You are then moved very swiftly to the back of the room where you must wait 15 minutes before you can leave. This was to ensure we were not going to have any kind of a reaction.
Finally, we were in and out within 20 minutes. It really was amazing.
We are so happy we have finally had the vaccine as this is the road to recovery for the country and the world.
Thank you to all the staff at Cross Keys Surgery who are dealing with this so professionally. You should be very proud of yourselves and the work you are doing. We are so grateful.
