The coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak changed the way health and social services are delivered across the country.
We wanted to hear about the experiences of people who live in Buckinghamshire or who receive services in the county. We ran an online survey from 1st May to 23rd June to ask people for their views on:
- information and advice during the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak
- experience of healthcare services
- experience of social care support
- mental health and wellbeing support.
We had a great response to the survey.
This report summarises the feedback we received and makes recommendations aimed at improving health and social care services. We have asked commissioners and providers of services for their responses to our recommendations. We will publish these when we receive them. We will also be publishing a summary report in the near future.

I am grateful for a gp appointment over the phone, but a video phone call would be more welcome. You can tell a lot from looking a someone’s face and it helps to reassure anxious patients.

We were surprised by how few people had had video consultations. We expected the number to be much higher. We did carry out the survey very early on, so that number may now have risen.
