There’s lots changing in the NHS at the moment, and we want to help keep you as well-informed as possible. So we’re going to do a series of articles on new Healthcare Professionals.

As part of the NHS Long-Term Plan, new Healthcare Professionals will be introduced into Primary Care Networks. They won’t all be arriving at once, but will be recruited in phases over the next five years. But who are they?

The new roles will be:

  • Physician Associate
  • Clinical Pharmacist
  • Community Paramedic
  • Social Prescribers

You might also have noticed some other new professionals in your local practice, including Care Navigators and Physiotherapists.

We are planning on running a series of articles where we will interview each of these new professionals. That way, we can all get a better understanding of their role, and what to expect if you have an appointment with them.

Our question is, what other roles do you want to learn about? Let us know in the comments below.

If one of the new professionals is at your local practice, and you think they might like to get involved, let us know!
