At a meeting of Kingswood Surgery PPG in mid–2018 concerns were raised regarding patient confidentiality at the practice Reception desk.

The receptionist asked patients to describe their symptoms for the receptionist to decide the appropriate medical practitioner to refer the patient to. This conversation could be overheard by other patients talking to the second receptionist.

The surgery considered the problem and, after some deliberation regarding the cost, went ahead and installed a double glass screen. This has helped with patient confidentiality.

This is an improvement for patients as a result of discussion at the Kingswood Surgery PPG.
