Earlier this year, we published our Back on Track report. It looked at care designed to improve independence after illness or injury.

In the report, we found that people should have more involvement in the planning of their care. People also said that they felt staff often rushed, or were very busy.

In response to our report, BHT said:

Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust thanks Healthwatch for its informative Back on Track report. The Trust is currently working with the County Council to create a joint reablement service. The Healthwatch report has provided us with extremely useful feedback and we will seek to incorporate its recommendations as we review and develop the service. In particular the report has highlighted the need for good communication so that service users understand and are involved in all stages of support.

Gillian Quinton, Executive Director (Communities, Health and Adult Social Care) at Buckinghamshire County Council said:

The Healthwatch report has provided us with vital feedback which will now be woven directly into our communications plan. The report’s feedback around user expectation and understanding of ‘what will happen next’ is also very helpful… We are pleased to accept all the recommendations contained within the report and will use them to inform our exciting journey of integration.
