Healthwatch Bucks is proud to present our 2018-19 Annual Report. We’re so happy to see that we’ve heard from over 2300 of you on your local health and social care.
We celebrated our work and handed out copies of our report at our Annual Report Launch on the 23rd of July, at Stoke Mandeville Stadium. We also presented prizes to the winners of our Kindness in Care Competition.
Dignity in Care 100th Visit
This year, we celebrated our 100th care home visit. It was a truly rewarding moment for the whole team, and our volunteers who made this work possible. We’re pleased to say that so many of the care homes we visit get a rating of 4 stars or higher; a real testament to the hard work that happens in care homes every year.
Our Crystal Clear Report
Thanks to our volunteer Mike Etkind, we were able to help improve the readability of health and social care documents. With Mike’s recommendations, Buckinghamshire County Council and Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust have already taken steps to improve the readability of their leaflets and documents.
Over the year, we have helped signpost 87 people over the phone to get the help they needed. Whether they’ve called for help with a complaint, or information about local services, we’ve been happy to help. We have also been revamping our signposting web pages.
This is a mere snapshot of our work so please take this opportunity to read about all that we have achieved and to see what our plans are for the next 12 months. We would also be delighted if you could also join us at our Annual Report Launch.
