We received this response from Bucks Integrated Care System (ICS) on our report on urgent care.
We did this report following the announcement that Wycombe Minor Injuries and Illnesses Unit will be renamed an Urgent Treatment Centre.
In response, Clinical Director for Urgent Care, Gemma Jones said:
We are pleased to be able to offer the people of Buckinghamshire access to this service. The UTC is an important part of the wider integrated urgent care network. We would like to reiterate that this unit is equipped to deal with minor injuries and illness and if you are acutely unwell you should call 999 or go straight to A&E. We would also like to remind people to ‘talk before they walk’ by calling NHS111, who can direct them to the most appropriate service for their needs.
You can read the official response to the recommendations below. Where Bucks ICS outlines what steps it will be taking to ensure people know where to go for Urgent Care.
