Sometimes people with a learning disability need support to help them use health services. NHS England want to put a notes on records to tell staff that this support is needed.

This will help receptionists and healthcare staff at different services know how to support patients before they arrive. This is called ‘flagging’ support needs. This work is being piloted for people with a learning disability and will then be rolled out to other group.
