In December 2016, our local Clinical Commissioning Groups published a summary of their plan for the future of our health and social care services. The plan is known as the STP which is short for the Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire and Berkshire West Sustainability and Transformation Plan.
This is an important document which sets out the strategic direction for health and social care in Buckinghamshire and surrounding areas. The plan is intended to help our communities to be the healthiest they can be. The plan will also ensure that services are affordable for years to come.
We are pleased to see that those working on the STP remain committed to keep talking to the public and listening to the ideas and experience of service users. We look forward to the publication of the full plan in February.
Thalia Jervis, our Chief Executive, promises:
Our role at Healthwatch Bucks is to make sure that you, the residents of Buckinghamshire, are listened to and can influence the service changes that matter to you.
When the full plan is published, we will review it carefully and impartially. We will continue to make sure that you are involved in the design of health and care services in your community. We will also focus on those parts of the plan where we can achieve the most impact for you.
In the meantime, you can read a summary of the plan, a full draft and a letter from David Smith below. David is Chief Executive of Oxfordshire Clinical Commissioning Group. He is leading the work on the STP across the whole of Bucks, Oxfordshire and West Berkshire. Please post any questions or comments about these documents using the webform below.
