During engagement work in February and March 2015, we were told that there were insufficient dentists in the county able to give dental care on the NHS. We decided to undertake some mystery shopping to find out where NHS dental treatment could be found.

Our research revealed that it was relatively easy to find a dentist willing to give NHS care within a 5 mile radius of a Buckinghamshire postcode. However, finding out which dental practices offered what type of care was not as easy as perhaps it should have been. Much of the data on NHS Choices relating to Dentists was out-of-date.
