We’re pleased to publish a report regarding recent engagement with gypsy and traveller communities in Gerrards Cross and Burnham, undertaken in partnership with seAp.
The good news is that overall GPs, community midwives and health visitors are reported as doing a good job for these communities. All 21 travellers from the sites in Bottom’s Walton and Wapsy’s Wood reported being signed up with GPs and many of them praised highly the support they had received. Feedback included the appreciation of a GP who provided support to resident’s family members visiting from Ireland; praise for health visitors and midwives; effective all-round health and social care support and signposting for young families; and travellers reporting their appreciation for health options and surgeries that they hadn’t expected to be given access to.
